One Way Trip to the Tiki Grotto

I've wanted to paint this scene for a long time. It took me a couple of months, but it's finally out of my head and a finished painting. It's tiki via Hearts of Darkness by way of a demented safari ride at Disneyland. A mysterious, bewitched, hula girl tempts savage businessmen on a one way trip up river. Many, many tiki drinks later, it's another lost weekend... Exhibited at the group show, Laluzapalooza 2012, at La Luz De Jesus Gallery in Hollywood, CA, March 2012.
